Our Basic editing packages includes copyediting, which corrects issues with grammar, syntax, sentence structure, and word usage. We also suggest ways to resolve any issues we detect with organization and style. We apply a style sheet to the manuscript to ensure consistency of usage throughout the manuscript. Also known as "book nursing."

The Basic Editing process includes a single round of editing. Here's how it works: (1) You submit your manuscript to us. (2) We edit and deliver the edited version to you, which completes the editing process.

Cost: $3.50+ per page (.014 per word)

package 2: comprehensive editing

Our Comprehensive editing package includes substantive editing. This is an intensive level of word-by-word editing, which may include research/fact-checking to ensure the veracity and correctness of factual assertions for non-fiction books and reorganization as needed. In addition to basic editing, this level of editing will address issues of fuzzy logic, poor argumentation, lack of clarity, and ineffective phrasing. Also known as "book doctoring" (or in some cases "book CPR"). 

The Comprehensive Editing process includes two rounds of editing—one for the substantive edit and another for a copyedit. Here's how it works: (1) You submit your manuscript to us. (2) We complete the substantive edit and deliver to manuscript to you. (3) You accept/reject/make the suggested changes and then return the manuscript to us. (4) We do a final copyedit and return the manuscript to you, which completes the editing process.

Cost: Starting at $5.50 per page (.022 per word)

Interior Design (for books)

Professionally-set type on attractively-formatted interior pages is the hallmark of a "real" book. Most readers would be hard-pressed to tell you what kerning, tracking, and leading are, but you can be sure they will wince a little when they see a page designed by someone who couldn't.
