Welcome

good news ... bad news ... great news

The good news is that there have never been more options for would-be published authors to get a message from their hearts and minds into print and available to the reading public.

The bad news is that the market is glutted with books that have obviously not received the same professional level of pre-press care (editing, page layout, cover design) as the titles they are competing against (i.e., those released by traditional royalty-paying publishers with an in-house staff of editors, typesetters, layout artists, and graphic designers). Thus, too often self- and on-demand-published books simply don't stack up favorably against the competition. They look and read so...so...so home-made. And the trade market is very competitive.

The great news is that we can help! Whether you are a first-time author who wants to deliver a beautifully edited manuscript to a literary agent or book publisher or a pastor who wants to turn that sermon series into a book and self-publish through Amazon CreateSpace or Xulon, we have the skills and expertise to help you accomplish your publishing goals!

So whether:

  • you need a simple line edit or a total rewrite...
  • you have written a novel, a non-fiction book, a master's thesis, or a doctoral dissertation...
  • you want to turn that sermon or teaching series into a book or training manual...
  • you are self-publishing or preparing your manuscript to submit to agents and publishers...
  • English is your first or second language...

We have the experience and expertise that will set your work apart in a very crowded market!

Self-publishing?

You might not know it, but some of the greatest authors in the history of literature have self-published their work. Here's a partial list: William Blake, Robert Bly, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Lord Byron, Tom Clancy, Pat Conroy, e. e. cummings, John Grisham, Ernest Hemingway, Stephen King, Louis L'Amour, Beatrix Potter, Gertrude Stein, Mark Twain, and Virginia Woolf.

Good-Sense Tip for Authors Who Choose On-Demand Publishing

If you do opt to publish your book through one of the on-demand publishers, we strongly advise you to consider having your book edited and formatted (interior layout) with a service such as ours instead of purchasing the publisher's add-on services. In many cases you will not only save hundreds of dollars but end up with a press-ready finished product that you are more satisfied with.
Author beware:
Please research thoroughly any fee-for-service on-demand publisher or self-publishing partner you are considering.

Price-Match Pledge

Let's face it: Most writers are not rich. We can help! We strive not only to provide the best service but also the best prices in the industry. We pledge to do our best to meet or beat any other professional editor's rate for the same level of editing. So if you receive a lower quote but are interested in working with us, please let us know and we will do our best to match the lower quote.

Things to consider

  • Excellent Editing

We offer the full range of wordsmithing services - from proofreading through ghostwriting - from 2 cents per page!

  • Don't Sound the Amateur Alarm

Readers may not judge your book by its cover, but nothing screams amateur quite like a sloppy book interior. Let us help you make sure your book reads  as well as a New York Times Bestseller.

  • By Believers for Believers

As our name "Christian Book Editor" suggests, we are believers in Jesus Christ who edit books written by fellow believers. Thus, when you entrust your manuscript to us you can rest assured that your editor shares your worldview and strives to live by the two great commandments (Matthew 22:37-40) and the Golden Rule (Matthew 7:12).

The Big Question

Professional editing is not cheap. Most writers are not rich. We want you to make the best decision for your book. That's why we always provide you with a complimentary sample edit. It doesn't matter what Editor A has done for Jane Doe's novel or Joe Schmoe's commentary. The critical question is: What can he or she do for your book?

The only way you will know is if you see a sample edit of your manuscript.... If you wouldn't buy a car with taking it for a test drive, why would you entrust that novel you've labored over for months, or maybe even years, to an editor without seeing the approach he or she would take with your work?
